Sri Lanka Dinner
Mark and Ariana were officially approved in April as our new church planters in Sri Lanka, and they will soon be departing for the field. Before they go, we would love for you to meet them personally and pray for them.
They will be preparing a special dinner for a small group of us on August 7 at 5:30 p.m. in the Student Center. If you would like to join this meal, please register by Sunday, August 2.. Space is very limited, and spots will be filled on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

Global Missions Health Conference
If you are interested in learning more about medical missions, we encourage you to consider attending the Global Missions Health Conference (GMHC). Continuing Education credits are available for medical professionals.
The 2026 GMHC will be held in Louisville, KY, November 12–14. Scholarship assistance to attend is available.
Medical Team - Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
1 Presbyterian has been invited to join a team led by Andy and Bev Warren to serve with Ethiopia ACT through community health outreach for families living in the slum communities of Addis. Both medical and non-medical participants are welcome to take part in this meaningful opportunity.
Firs Pres members have previously participated in medical mission trips to both locations and we are grateful for the continued opportunity to serve in partnership with these ministries. For more information, contact the WM office.
Medical Missions to Nairobi, Kenya
A 1st Presbyterian team will be traveling to Nairobi to serve alongside Imbumi and Martha Makuku by providing basic medical care for school children and community members in the Kibera slum. In addition to medical clinics, the trip will also include celebrations and dedications for several meaningful expansions of the Makuku ministry. Medical providers, including a dentist, are especially needed, as well as non-medical individuals.
Lunch Bunch with Mike Malone of Transforming Tanzania
We are excited to host a Lunch Bunch with Mike Malone of Transforming Tanzania. Mike will be joining us to share updates on the ministry, express his gratitude for the committee’s financial support, and tell us how our partnership is making an impact in their ministry.

Health Awareness Day - Medical Missions
Medical Missions Committee is inviting you to get a heart check. We will be in the Student Center from 9:40am to 11:15am Sunday July 14 to check blood pressure. High blood pressure usually has no symptoms and almost half of the American population has elevated blood pressure. Come get a checkup without a co-pay!

Medical Missions Lunch with Tim and Kathy Rice
Tim and Kathy Rice, missionaries with Kingdom Restoration Society in the Democratic Republic of Congo will be visiting 1st Presbyterian Church on Sunday November 9, 2025. The Medical Missions Committee would like to invite any interested medical and non-medical persons to a lunch in the Café after the late service to hear about God’s work through them, raising up the next generation of Congolese doctors, nurses, and health administrators at Vanga Evangelical Hospital.
